John Wayne Airport | Javier’s Long-time Dining Destination  opens “Javi’s” new concept restaurant at JWA

Long-time favorite dining destination for local and Orange County visitors, Javier’s, in partnership with HMSHost, has opened their new concept restaurant Javi’s at John Wayne Airport. Javi’s is located in the new Terminal C Marketplace area, adjacent to gates 13 and 14.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of Javi’s at John Wayne Airport,” said Airport Director Alan L. Murphy. “This is a great addition to the many new offerings for dining at the Airport.” Javi’s will be conveniently located near Terminal C’s international gates, which will serve as the gateway from Orange County to Mexico beginning this June with Southwest’s non-stop flights to Cabo San Lucas and Mexico City.  … Continue Reading

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT | Elevates Hauteoc Travelers and Welcomes Terminal C:  6 New Gates, Brand New Terminals, Shopping and Dining Options

Effective Sunday, November 20, 2011, Frontier and Southwest Airlines will be fully operational in John Wayne Airport’s new Terminal C. Passengers flying on these airlines should use Terminal C to check bags, access security screening and claim bags at Baggage Carousel 5, 6 or 7.    Parking Structure B2 and the new Parking Structure C are the parking options closest to Terminal C. A new Valet Parking location is also available in front of Terminal C.
Terminal C, which opened to the public on November 14, 2011, includes six new bridged aircraft gates, a new commuter terminal, more security checkpoints, self-serve check-in kiosks, as well as new dining and shopping options.
In addition to the new terminal, Parking Structure C, with more than 2,000 parking spaces and advanced parking technology is now open and includes:
- Digital signage to identify how many parking spots are available in real-time.
- Kiosks that allow travelers to pay for parking as they exit the airport (pay-on-foot), before getting to their cars.   Effective, November 20, 2011, Frontier and Southwest Airlines will no longer serve passengers in Terminal B.  In order to meet the growing needs of the traveling public, John Wayne Airports welcomes Terminal C.

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT | JWA Opens North Commuter Terminal (Gates 1A, 1B and 1C) by OCAir.com’s Jenny Wedge

John Wayne Airport (JWA)  celebrated the completion of the new North Commuter Terminal with passengers departing on Delta Air Lines’ 7:05 a.m. flight to Salt Lake City Friday. Delta’s passengers were among the first to use new gate counters and view flight information on new flat panel screens being installed throughout the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.

Construction of the North Commuter Terminal is part of the larger Airport Improvement Program that began in 2006. A major component of the Program is construction of a new Terminal C and improvements to the existing Terminals A and B. Permanent commuter facilities are being constructed north of Terminal A and south of Terminal C and will replace temporary commuter facilities. … Continue Reading

Last year during this travel period, more than 110,000 passengers traveled through the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the summer travel season and is traditionally one of the busiest travel periods of the year. John Wayne Airport (JWA) expects airport traffic to be heaviest on Friday (May 27) and Tuesday (May 31). In 2010, over 100,000 passengers traveled through JWA between the Friday before and the Tuesday after Memorial Day.

Visitors to JWA during the Memorial Day holiday weekend should be aware of ongoing construction activities around the Riley Terminal. Passengers and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and give themselves 90 minutes to two-hours to find parking, check their luggage and go through the security checkpoint to ensure they are at their gate in time for their flight. … Continue Reading
