On Creating Ipanema Exotic Car Event: “Kathy Marino is the real brains behind the operation… RockStar!“- ATTORNEY MICHAELS LAW GROUP, JONATHAN MICHAELS, Concours Motorcars
Kathy Marino definitely has a special place at Velocity Magazine. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank Kathy for all her hard work andt enacious drive. She was truly an integral part of Velocity Magazine’s launch and turned the Astor Classics from a stunning museum into a thriving gala. To date, sponsors and guest are still talking about the event… after the launch event, the Velocity team received numerous compliments and kudos for putting on such a grandiose party. I can truly say that Velocity’s launch party was a success due to Kathy’s hard work, preparation, promotion, and differential marketing. A job well done Kathy! – PUBLISHER, DAVID THRESHIE, VELOCITY MAGAZINE
“Kathy did an amazing job with the Big Apple Bash in New York. She had the challenge of fusing the interests of the presenting sponsors, the film festival, and my feature film with all its VIPs; in the end, everyone was ecstatic, and it was an over whelming success. The event was packed, drinks were flowing, and my film’s trailer looped all night long on flat-screens that Kathy had placed through out the venue. People pay me compliments all the time on an unforgettable event.” - GREG CHWERCHAK, DIRECTOR, “GREETINGS FROM THE SHORE” featuring Paul Sorvino
During the creation and development of our new signature event, Taste of Laguna Niguel, which debuted last month, we needed to insure significant audience and sponsorship participation. The event was significantly understaffed and marketing and success of the event was in doubt. I hired Kathy Marino in July in attempt to secure sponsors and targeted audience participation for this event. The late date of her hiring for this event was a double challenge as we only had six weeks to meet our attendance goals for this new event. With Kathy on the team, we increased the number of participating sponsors from zero to twenty-two of which 16 were directly from Kathy’s efforts, generating income and key in-kind publicity for this event.
Getting the word of the event out through the sponsors and her social network, the attendance of close to 1000 guests helped insure the event’s success. Kathy Marino did a great job in meeting her commitment and the success of the inaugural Taste of Laguna Niguel was secured in large part thanks to her expert knowledge of publicity, sponsorship including charitable organizations and promotion. I recommend Kathy to any organization that needs to connect an event or product to their target audience. DEREK QUINN | Chairman of Taste of Laguna Niguel 2007, Chairman of the Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce 2008
“Kathy played a significant role in shaping KSBR’s image and building business relationships. KSBR is the non-profit community service radio station at Saddleback College. Our most important event each year is the KSBR All-Star Birthday Bash. The Bash is a fund raising concert, which features a line up of 25 jazz headliners. The money raised during the concert provides the major portion of KSBR’s operation budget for the coming year. Kathy Marino joined the Birthday Bash Committee with an impressive background in media. Her contributions were nothing less than outstanding. She helped us achieve a new level of marketing through cost-eðective publicity for our event, building new supporters within the South Orange County community, and significantly increasing the number of sponsors and contributors to our station.
Kathy was particularly adept with marketing research. She was able to find sources for significant data, and then interpret and organize that information to develop presentations that portrayed KSBR in a very impressive light. Kathy’s work continues to form the foundation for every presentation that we make. She has been an exceptional role model to other members of our committee and for the station, and she has proven countless times to be a success in creating outstanding results. - TERRY WEDEL, Operations Director, KSBR FM RADIO.
